Our beginning...

We were high school sweethearts.  We talked and I dreamt of one day being his wife.  Spending our lives together was something that we knew we wanted to do.  We had planned to wait until I was finished with school and had a job.  I had just graduated nursing school and was studying night and day for my state board exam.

God painted this backdrop just for us on this special day.

Jacob and I have watched the Independence Day fireworks over our favorite lake since 2002.  2005 was no different.  I took a break from studying and stayed on the water all day with him.   Little did I know, he had a shiny little secret that he also had on the water all day long.  As the grand finale of the fireworks were flying high, he eased down on his knee and proposed to me.  I was in utter shock.  I thought we had agreed to wait until I passed my boards and got a job.  I’m so glad that he surprised me.  His proposal was perfect…on the water…under the fireworks! 

8 months later we said our “I do’s” and our life together has been wonderful since then.  

Happy Anniversary, Jacob.  I love you.
