Life's Little Blessings ~ Day 5

I'm linking up with Brynn during these 7 days of Life's Little Blessings.  Go check her out!
And opening His mouth He began to teach them, saying, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. "Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Life's Little Blessings ~ Day 5

Brynn's post from yesterday prompted what I want to talk about today....Blessings in Disguise.  She talked about how life doesn't always turn out the way you plan it!  She has had many more "surprises" in her life than me.  I am a planner and so far most of mine and Jacob's "plan" has panned out.  But I sometimes wonder if there aren't surprises waiting on us.  Which makes me VERY NERVOUS because change makes us all uncomfortable.  But sometimes these surprises are simply blessings in disguise.  Blessings that push us out of our comfort zone, but also bring happiness, joy and sometimes great love.  I have often wondered why specific things have in the past or are currently happening in my life.  I beg God for a clue to show me how to handle the situation.  Sometimes He shares with me why this or that happens...and somethings are still a mystery.  Sometimes I wonder why we must feel heartache and experience losses?  Or be forced to do things that we DO NOT want to do?

I do believe with all my heart that the things happening today were long ago written on the pages of our lives by God.  We can try all day long to rationalize things and understand them.  However, I think that sometimes we just have to accept them as blessings in disguise and be thankful.

It's good to step out of our comfort zone sometimes!
