Wonderful Weekend!

We broke in the 2013 camping season this weekend.  It was wonderful!  Except it was too short.  We went with our friends Jennifer & Jamie and their 2 girls.  Lindsay, Nick and Rylee were also down there.  They had friends that came and spent the weekend with them.  I know that this is the BEST trip our girls have ever had.  They played sun up ~ sun down.  Bella & Rylee usually always camp together, but with Layla (7) and Alaina (4), they had a BLAST!  Layla was such a big helper.  We loved hanging out with Jennifer and Jamie.  We have a lot in common and always have a good time.  I hope this is the 1st of many trips that we take together!  I imagine our girls will be friends that grow up together.
Jamie was the cook this trip!  It was all great!  Next time, we've already declared that it was on us.  I need to brush up on my non-existence cooking skills.  Friday night Jennifer and I prepared for the Dirty Girl Run the next morning by putting our team name on our shirt.  We were the Scootin' Hooties.  One of our friends is getting married this weekend and it was an all girls race.  So, one of our friends came up with the idea to let her be the bride and all of us her grooms.  So we all wore button up shirts, ties, boxers and had mustaches.

Jennifer made our iron-on logo.  Mean owl...do we look intimidating?
This was our "wedding jump"...you've seen them...you know what I mean.
This is our dirty-post-race picture.
While changing in the parking lot, we left a little souvenir.
We had fun, but Jennifer and I were ready to get back to the lake.  We changed, hopped in the truck, stopped for s'mores supplies and Jamie some cooking stuff and we raced to get back to the lake to find our sweet girls having even more fun together.

Living the good life!

picture overload

Some are these snap shots are repeats if you're my FB friend or follow me on Instagram. Sorry.  Either way, I wanted to share some of our more recent moments.  All of these cell phone pictures, so the quality is less than the best.  But sweet moments none the less...
This was a Saturday morning.  I got up to run and these 2 snuggled up and watched cartoons.

Bella said "Hey Mama, watch my show."  So she hid and her Barbie danced and sang.  It was cute.

Jacob, Bella and I went to the RV show a couple weeks ago and it was so cute how she would rub his head while he held her.

She didn't like how loud the waterfall was.

Lunch at Logans

Quick nap

We stopped to look for Jacob and I some new shoes...we bought Bella a pair and she played at little putt-putt.

This little angel and I played in Bella's room for a long time one day.  I love her so much.

Lucy has always had impressive morning hair.
I snapped this picture and sent it to a sweet friend.

We had a fish fry and family time.  Jacob's uncle has horses & chickens.  Bella enjoyed visiting them.
...and feeding them
...and riding them.

This horse is having a baby next month.  See her big ol belly?

Bella was playing with her babies and shoved one in each of our shirts.  At 1st, I thought she was just carrying the baby around, because for the 1st 6 months of Lucy's life, that's how I went grocery shopping with both of them.  Then she said that her baby was in her tummy.  (NO there is NOT a real baby in my tummy)

Check up+Bella's 1st hair cut+Park=memorable day

A few weeks ago, we had a big day planned...
Lucy's 15 month old check up.  She's a healthy 21 pounds.
Bella's 1st hair cut.  At the age of 3, I finally decided that it was time to cut those baby hairs since it was dangerously close to touching her booty and she would get tangled in it when sleeping.  Bella did great.  Regina cut off 3 inches.  When Jacob got home, he asked if we even got it cut, because it wasn't a huge difference.
Afterwards, Mrs. Regina gave her a quarter to bet some candy because she did such a great job.
As I'm typing this, Bella asked "When can we go do that again?"  She enjoyed it!
Then we went to the park.  It was a beautiful day.  They played and had a good time.  I did discover that Lucy does NOT like swinging {yet}.  It was a great day.  While we were at the park, I did a little soul searching and thinking in the sunshine.  It's crazy how things hit you when you least expect it. Either way, I was thankful for that little park trip and a very fun day with my sweet girls.

randoms

We finally got another computer after being robbed.  Thankfully we had Carbonite, so after over a week of restoring all of our files...I finally have a computer that I can jump on and write.  A few,  one person said they miss reading my posts...so here I am!

This will be a random post, because my thoughts are bouncing.

I ran across this on Pinterest and think it's so pretty.  But it's sold out and kinda expensive, so I'll keep my old one for now.

The Sleeping Beauties shop is kinda slow right now.  But to be honest, I haven't devoted much time to creating new things, so I can't expect many sells right now either.  Check out my Facebook and Etsy page.  When I do make a goodie for someone and they like it, it makes my day!

As far as my job change, it's going great!  It's been 2 months since I said my bittersweet good-bye to some wonderful friends and walked out of a job that I enjoyed for 6 years.  I have missed my L&D job a tiny bit when 2 of my old co-workers delivered their 1st babies and 2 previous patients that I bonded with and helped out them on their 1st delivery~had their 2nd babies...on those days, I thought it would be nice to be a part of their special day.  However I do not regret my decision one bit.  I'm enjoying working in the pediatric office.  I'm enjoying my co-workers, how close it is to home and my hours.  I no longer walk in to my babies that are already sleeping.  I get good night kisses EVERY night...I love that!   I love doing what I want on the weekends instead of checking to see if it's my work weekend.  I always missed out on so many weekend things.  In the past 2 months, we've been able to hang out/run/go out with friends and family.  It's been wonderful.  All amazing changes in my life.

The most precious things in life aren't things after all.

I saw this quote today and it hasn't left my mind since I read it.  I think the most precious things are

  • love
  • feeling loved & valued
  • happiness
  • contentment
  • the feeling after a good ol belly laugh
These are just a few things that I take for granted some times, but am working on keeping in the front of my mind.
