Screen porch love

We have a screen porch that we enjoy during the spring and fall months.  But it kinda gets neglected the other months of the year.  Bella has been spending every day out there!  We have a small TV out there and she has taken her little princess table out there and will play and eat out there for hours each day.  We have a ceiling fan and shades to help with the afternoon sun.  I love that she loves to be out there.  We all end up hanging out there for a while.

Here are some more sweet pictures that I want to share:

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you mama's out there! I must say that I am so lucky to have such a loving, caring and thoughtful mama.  A wonderful, giving mother-in-law and precious, loving grandmothers.  I am so thankful to have them in my life.  And now I get to experience the wonderful journey of motherhood myself.

We've had a nice weekend!  Friday we spent a few hours at a local Relay for Life.  Bella searched the tents for cupcakes and played on the playground for a while.  She was very hesitant to go down the tall slide.  She stood at the bottom of the ladder for a long time as the other children passed her, climbing and giggling. Finally with the encouragement from her daddy...she did it!  Over and over and over again!

Then Saturday, my family had a work day at my (very active 83 year old) Mamaw's house.  There were 17 of us there helping, including my uncle came from way down south Alabama and my cousin came from Atlanta.  We had a huge list that we knocked out pretty fast.  Then we enjoyed burgers and hotdogs off of the grill.  We painted the bottom area around the exterior of her house and the inside of the garage.  Completely cleaned out the garage.  There was even a man grabbing trash-to-treasure stuff from the curb.  We weeded and cleaned up all of the flower beds, pressure washed the patio.  Washed all the curtains, steam cleaned the carpet, deep cleaned the bathrooms, dusted.  I'm sure more was done that I forgot. Mamaw's response: tears and gratitude.  Which made us all do it with joy!  We know that there is nothing else that we could've given her for Mother's Day that would've meant more.

I wore the tennis shoes that I wear to work, not knowing that I would be one of the ones painting...so these grocery sacks protected my shoes = improvising!

(Sorry for the picture quality.   All of these were phone pictures)

wild life

Know why this pot still has dead pansies from winter in it?

5 little bird eggs
We've seen deer, rabbits and turkeys in our yard.  Last week Jacob spotted a new animal that I've never seen in person...
That's right a fox and her 2 babies.
Also, see that grass growing!?!  After 5 years, our hill will soon be completely covered in grass!

Ruby's story

Several months ago, I pinned this adorable picture on Pinterest because of the cute baby and her headband.  Little did I know...
I've been following "Just for the Record" blog and learned of this beautiful baby's story...

1st day of summer for us.

Monday's update... +1 pound.  Dang it!  I'm tired of the roller coaster!  But if I'm honest with myself, I could be doing better.  So...today, I'm doing better.

Saturday was our 1st lake day of the summer.  We spend as many of our summer days at the lake as we can.  We would love to live at the lake, but we don't, so we'll just spend as much time there as we can...when we can.  We hung out with friends and went on a long boat ride.  Then we came back and hung out with Nana and Papa for a while.  Bella loves the water just as much as she did last summer.

It was a little cold!

6 months

Has it really already been half a year since this precious Lucy entered our lives?  She makes my heart smile, right down to my very core.  She makes me happy.  She's so laid back and easy going.  We introduced her to baby food last week and she was very excited about that!  She is an amazing sleeper.  Even though we did have to do the sleep training that took about a week, it's been smooth sailing since then.  She will sleep anywhere from 12-15 hours during the night and take 2-4 hour nap during the day!  She easily falls asleep on her on, even though I love the moments that I get to rock her to sleep.  This stage is so precious.  She loves her bumbo seat and her exersaucer.  She loves to grab my hair and tug.  When we get home from work or pick her up out of her bed, she lights up with excitement.  Those arms and legs go to dancing.  My heart cannot help but to squeeze with love for her in these moments.

These are a couple of pictures that I snapped last night while she was in her bath.
She loves her toes and to chew on her right thumb.
