this and that

I got a big "F" for last week.  I gained 2 pounds.  But after I got off the scales, I was recharged thinking this is a new week.  Yesterday and today I've eaten much better!  Hopefully I'll report a good number next week.

Here's a little of this and a little of that...
This sweet sister loving happens DAILY around here.

Bella wore her hat and sunglasses the entire grocery trip!

Lindsay and I had a craft day today.  This picture is our work in progress. We made a cute bedspread for Rylee's big girl bed!  We made it to a full size bed dimensions...but it's too little and will need tweaking!

Jacob came home today and showed me this video.   We've been cracking up and singing it.  Hahahaha!!

the end

It's the end of this wonderful world of being a stay-at-home-mom.  Even though, it was my maternity leave, I have lived a different life for the past few months.  I have really missed my friends at work.  But I have loved that I haven't set my alarm clock in months!  I have loved waking up to my babies, staying in my warm bed watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with my crazy bedhead Bella while nursing Lucy.  I loved eating when we got around to it and watching Bella learn so much and watching Lucy grow.  Walking to get the mail was usually our outside adventure each day, now I guess I'll be getting it when I pull in after work each day.  I haven't missed being disappointed when thinking "Oh, I have to go to work tomorrow".   We didn't get to lounge around nearly as much as I would've liked.  We have been quite busy:
I'm tired and now I have to figure out how to be a mommy of 2, a wife who cooks and cleans, and a full time nurse that's working a 2nd job!?!?!?!?!?  I'm scared...but I'll adjust just fine...

because I'm so thankful to be a mommy of 2 and a wife to a man I love so much and a nurse who's blessed with 2 great jobs to help provide for my family.

Lucy's Nursery

So we've already taken a tour of Bella's big girl room, so now it's Lucy's turn.  Even though she is still in our room, next to our bed, it won't be long before she moves to her own room.  I'm kinda sad about her moving out.  I love her being so close and those late night feedings are so nice to not even get out of bed.  It's ready for when I feel that the time is right.

I love the rustic cross on her wall.  This cute stool is from our cousin, Emily.  She got Rylee, Bella and Lucy matching ones.
My Mammaw painted this for this room and her great-grand babies.

Our bow collection in her closet.  This is a sonogram of Bella at 12 weeks.  At my baby shower, everyone wrote a sweet message.  Even though this isn't "Lucy's", I couldn't take it down.
I hope you've enjoyed the tour!

28

Today was MY day...my birthday!  It was a good day.  My pocket buzzed all day with sweet Facebook messages from my friends and family.  My 1st gift, a wonderful gift...Lucy slept ALL NIGHT, from 9:30p-5:30a!!  Then Jacob helped get Bella ready before he went to work, to give me a little extra time this morning before I headed to work.  It is quite ironic that I helped delivered 3 babies at the same hospital I was born at 28 years ago.  What if one of those babies will grow up to help deliver babies there in 28 years???  Then I picked up my sweet babies from Mrs. Betty's (home daycare).   Lucy had a good day and Bella had tee-tee'd in the potty up for most of the day!  When I pulled up at home, Jacob was washing his work car and then gave mine a nice shine!

We sat outside and chatted a while, then when I walked in I found this unexpected gift on the counter...

Jacob is notorious for "wrapping" my gifts in unconventional ways.  This time, there's a small gift on top wrapped in our dish towel, the big gift is in a table cloth I made for Bella's 1st birthday party, notice the flowers, they were used in Rylee's 1st birthday party and the balloons all came out of the party closet.  Then of course the magna doodle was borrowed from the toy box.  But I love his creativity!  It makes me laugh.  Wondering what it is????  A Keurig!  I've never been a coffee drinker.  However, when the hospital I work at had Star Bucks, just 1 floor down from my floor, I kinda got addicted to their peppermint mochas!  At home I drink hot chocolate and I have this new favorite coffee cup that I love (I'm searching high and low for a matching dish set...no luck).  So I was excited to get it!

Jacob makes fun of me, asking, "How old do you have to be to stop having birthday parties?"  Because my sweet parents still cook me dinner of my choice and cook my favorite birthday cake, chocolate with marshmallow, fluffy icing (that you can only find at Piggly Wiggly) with the candy letters on the top.  (simple, I know.  But I LOVE it).  So my menu of choice, grilled chicken with BBQ sauce that my daddy makes (it's delicious), wild rice, twice-baked potato, twice-baked sweet potatoes (Jacob's favorite), green beans, rolls and of course THE CAKE!  Tonight the diet went out the window and I enjoyed my meal!!!

So, like I said, I love the candy letters.  So it's always funny to see how they use the letters every year.

I had a great day today, however, my heart is so heavy for a friend, who at 25 weeks pregnant had to unexpectedly deliver her baby due to complications and lost him.  He is now with his heavenly Father.  Please stop to say a prayer for this sweet, heartbroken family.

update on week 4

Week 4 begins with me being 2 pounds lighter for a total weight loss of 11 pounds!!  I've got 13 more to go.  I'm praying that they just fall off.  But I know they will only come off with hardwork and dedication.  Fact is, dieting is not fun, but feeling better about myself is worth it!  I'm still waiting to get in my smaller jeans and scrubs.  Again, I'm only posting to keep myself accountable.  I'm sure most of you don't care how much I weigh, but when I know that I have to post every Monday, I want to report a negative number!

Now I'll leave you peek of our weekend:
Napping with Lucy...I LOVE IT.
Daddy and Bella played in the pantry.  Notice Bella in her pull-ups!  We are trying to at get her out of diapers. It would be great to not have to buy diapers for both of our babies!

Please pray for those affected by the tornados today!

10:58

Several years ago, Jacob told me that he always happens to look at the clock and he always catches the time 10:58 am/pm.  Lately, 10:58 grabs my attention too.  Strange!  Does this time mean something?  Will it be some significant time in our life one day?  While I was pregnant, we said that  Lucy would probably be born at that time.  She wasn't.  Is this the time that one of us will die?   Yea, kinda morbid, I know, but it has my wheels spinning when I'm in bed at night thinking about the fact that when I glanced at the clock it just happened to be 10:58, then the next day Jacob sends a text at 10:58.  Who knows?

Monday when I weighed in, I only lost 0.5 pounds last week.  It was disappointing, but not too surprising. I did eat out 3 times last week & even though I tried to eat healthier and drink my water, it wasn't enough to lose weight.  On a positive note I started working out!  One evening I was texting my sister, Lindsay, who's doing this with me.  I wrote "I wish I had a personal trainer and a free gym membership."  Ironically, a little bit later, Jacob said "y'all want me to train y'all?"  Jacob does and has been working out regularly for years.  I said "train for what?"  He says "To lose weight."  I said "Sure!!"  The following day, Lindsay came over and Jacob gave us a grueling workout.  Our legs have been so sore that we were walking funny and sat on the toilet with great ease!  So, even though there isn't a drastic number to report this week, I am proud of myself for working out hard this week and will continue trying hard in my diet and work outs.

my Best friend is having a BOY!

My best friend, Brynn, found out the sex of her baby yesterday.  Her family and close friends met at her mama's house for the big surprise.  Brynn was FaceTiming to see our reaction.  A friend brought in some cupcakes and at the same time we all bit into it and...we saw BLUE for Brynn and Josh's baby boy!!! I'm so thrilled for them!  This has been a long, emotional journey for them.  You might remember they found out they were pregnant just weeks before moving to Tulsa.  I'm sad that she isn't here for me to give her a huge hug, but I know that she's so happy...so I am happy for her!
Brynn's niece, Peyton & cousin, Elise

WE WERE SO EXCITED!

Snuggles

These are a handful of photos that I've taken over the past couple of weeks that I want to share.  Most of them are Bella & Lucy snuggling.  Precious!
Lucy at her 2 month check up.  10 pounds 10 ounces

snuggles on the table at the pediatrician's office

I was cooking dinner and Bella was "playing" in the living room with some nail polish that came in one of her Christmas gifts.  I thought she could't open it...I was wrong.  Jacob walked in from work and said that when she turned around to say hey to him, he thought The Joker was sitting in our living room.  After bathing her, scrubbing it off of her face, hands, teeth and hardwood floors...all is well.

Bella LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  It is by far her very favorite.

Lucy's sweet smile

Bella and her collection of baby dolls in her bed, most of which are naked!
